GDDS #8- "The Future of Kurdistan" and "Korean Choices"

South Korea's interest in the Kurdish struggle for independence is driven largely by the economic benefits that such an alliance can provide, and the opportunity to broaden foreign relations to include Kurdistan as a political asset; coupled with the direct correlation between the current Kurdish struggle and Korea's path to independence, thus making South Korea a model for future Kurdish policies and decisions.

  1. I think you're on the right track with the first part of your thesis but I'm a bit confused by the second part of your thesis. How does the current situation in the Middle East correlate to that of South Korea? Although Korea was under Japanese rule for nearly half a century, prior to that period Korea was largely autonomous. A unique ethnic and cultural group, Kurds don't have a similar political history. Further, WWII was a major factor in bringing about the Republic of Korea.
