GDDS #6 - Cuba and the U.S. and Korean Choices

The increasing normalization between the U.S and Cuba could eventually prove to North Korea and South Korea that change can happen, and so the actions of the U.S and Cuba can better the relationship between North and South Korea, show the similarities and differences between these countries, and indicate the a change can be for the better.

  1. I like your idea of using the Cuba-US process as a model for future relations between North & South Korea. However, you will need to consider the many differences between these powers as well. Most notably, North and South Korea share an ancient history that was "interrupted" with the division of the peninsula. Further, based on what we know of the Kim regime is it likely, or even possible, that North Korea would want to follow the same path as Cuba?
